What is the opening weeknds like?  Is the quarry busy with lots of people and would a 7mm wetsuit be suitable for the cold water.  Thank You

Current water temps - 45.

As far as a 7 mil - depends on how well you handle cold.  And whether you're planning on just one dive, or more than one.    Personally, I'm waiting a little bit until the air temps warm up - I rather get more than one dive in.   (Maybe next week if it EVER warms up around here!)  As far as crowds - someone else will have to answer what opening day is like, but I wouldn't think it would be too bad.  It's mainly going to be dry suit divers, and there won't be any classes doing check out dives.

Well, 15 people from my dive club, The Chicago Scuba Meetup Group, said they were showing up on Saturday, but we will see how that works.  Could be a good turnout since this will be the first local dive of the year for a lot of people.  You should be ok in the water in a 7mm, but you will need to stay warm during the surface interval.  Hopefully someone will bring wood and start a fire in the shack.
