I would love to see more people using this forum. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get people posting here?
What other fourms are you people using or not using and why or why not?

Hey Tim,
I have noticed in the past few days that more people are browsing the forum, and some of them are signing up. There are already 40 members on this forum.
Almost everyone that posts in a diving forum is on scubaboard.com. It is a very nice forum split up into many different categories, which is what I tried to do in this forum also. If anyone has any ideas on additional categories, please let me know and I will add them

Hello all,
I just joined the forum and I have some questions about Haigh quarry and other possible dives.
First, I just got my certification not to long ago by doing dives at Haigh and Kicakpoo (I still have my temporary card if that says anything.) I am interested in doing more diving around the midwest or finding a diving club in Central Illinois. I don't know where to get started.
Can you just show up at places and say "hey, I need a dive buddy?" Does anyone know any info that might help me get started?
Thanks!

Hey there
Congrats on your certification and welcome to the forum!
Since you are are a newly certified diver, and I am sure you didn't get to see a whole lot at Haigh, it is a great place to start at. Doing some more dives at Haigh will help you in getting your buoyancy better, and also get you more comfortable. After that you can try more surrounding quarries, as well as Lake Michigan . There are dive charters running out of Chicago and Milwaukee throughout the summer, for all skill levels.
As far as finding at buddy at Haigh, you can post a message in this forum and I'm sure you'll find someone. You can also call Tina and she'll help you out.

Tina knows a lot of us regulars, and will often introduce us to people needing a buddy that just happens to show up. You shouldn't have a problem finding someone to dive with at Haigh.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if Friday afternoons are a slow day up at the quarry or is it a busy day. Thanks for any information.

I've only been to Haigh once on Fridays, and that was for a night dive. Didn't seem too crowded.
