If anyone is going to Roatan over the next year or so, I know of a very worthy organization in El Suampo (an extremely poor community in Roatan that resides in a swamp - hence its name) that could use a few things (even tube socks).
They have a soccer ministry that requires these very poor kids to attend school to be part of the team. They have a number of teams (different age groups and genders). But they are so low on resources that after the first game all of the kids take of their socks and cleats and give them to the next team that has to play.
So if you are going to Roatan and have a little room in your luggage, please contact me and I will get you in touch with these dedicated people.
